Personality & Appearance
Personality: Ritsu, by all definitions of the term, is a prick. He's always trying to get a rise of others, and will do whatever he can to do so, often taking the cheapest blows he can. He does have his limits, though, and there are some jabs he will never take. Regardless, when words don't come to fruition, actions do- which could go as far as mooning someone, or giving them porn. However, he does have his benefits, as he's actually very good at his studies- granted, he never actually studies, but he knows what he's doing and he's willing to help others with such... But that'll only benefit you if you give him something in return, as he's not that nice. Still, if one can poke under those layers of assery, they might find more than they bargained for under the surface.

Flaws:
- Severe short-term memory: Ritsu can not recall people he's met for more than a day. His brain resets every night, and he'll remember where he went, and what he did, but nothing of who was with him.
- Ritsu suffers from depression, and while he doesn't show it, this comes with a severe form of self-loathing, and he sleeps once every three days. He also suffers from thoughts of suicide, off and on.
- Obviously, Ritsu has horrible communication skills. Even when trying to assist someone, he has no idea what to say. And he often feels awkward when surrounded in groups and forced to be serious.
- Ritsu is selfish, in a sense where if something is his, he doesn't like giving it away randomly. Food is the exception for this, but otherwise, good luck borrowing anything from him.
History
Ritsu's life, though he doesn't remember it, was a peaceful one. He- who's name was Ren at the time- grew up with his parents and twin brother on the west coast of Japan. They knew they had other family members, but no one ever discussed that small fact other than, "Some people never get on the right track." This confused the twins more than anything, but they didn't press further.
Their own family had problems, though. Ren normally did better in his classes than Seth. And while this in theory wasn't a problem, the parents seemed to play favorites based on who brought home the most achievement awards at times. Because of this Seth often felt left out, and would vent that problem by picking on Ren. This obviously got him in more trouble, but punishment to him was better than no attention at all. Due to this, the family grew up with a small rift, between them.
This changed in the beginning of their adolescent years for a very tragic reason. See, their parents had gone on a trip for a second honeymoon to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. Unfortunately... The plane had crashed into the Pacific Ocean, killing everyone aboard. The brothers, with only each other left were more than glad to put old tensions aside as they were sent to live with a cousin they'd never met before- Yuuma.
Yuuma... had his faults, but he tried. He drank often, he had little to no money the majority of the time.. But the money he did have went into the children, and a close bond was formed. They'd play games using cheap things like paper, and Yuuma occasionally snuck left-over ice cream from work for them to enjoy. Seth especially loved this new family, because for once, they were both treated equally.
... But times passed, and within the next couple years, Yuuma was about to lose the home. Feeling he had no way out, he ended his own life, leaving both brothers alone. Seth chose to go to a separate foster home, and when Ren claimed he needed Seth, all he was told was this:
"You don't need me! You never needed me, because everyone loved you! The only one who loved me, with you there, is dead... Forget about me. Forget about everything!!"
Ren, at that point, had a mental breakdown, with an oblivious Seth leaving him behind. By morning, he could no longer recall who had left. And by the morning after, he couldn't remember his own name. His foster parents named him Ritsu, to compensate.
However, Ritsu couldn't remember his new parents for more than a day at a time, which not only hurt them, but left everyone confused. A psychiatrist later revealed the issue to be rooted from emotional trauma. He could remember any fact given, any lesson... but his mind would never store information on people, to protect itself from bonding with anyone.
With no idea of how to fix it, his parents were stuck with him like this- and eventually, they kicked him to the streets. Ritsu decided, after seeing that much pain that he'd never do that to anyone again... And what hurts less to be forgotten by, than a crude asshole?
