❊ JUST ANOTHER DAY ❊
“why wait for the moment if you can take it?”
Célestine strode through the glass double doors of the Performing Arts Building. Her hair hung loose past her waist, and accentuated her overall plain and ordinary appearance. But there was a confident, perhaps even a dark glimmer in her chocolate brown eyes as they glanced around the front hall of the building, taking in every detail. And then Célestine broke into a cheerful smile, and the sudden illusion of a predator scouting for prey vanished, replaced by that of a brand-new student, wandering around the campus. The fiery haired girl walked through the hall, not seeming to be unnerved by the inquisitive stares of other students, nor by their whispers. Célestine wasn't hard of hearing whatsoever, and caught snippets and tidbits of gossip; some of it relating to her, but most of it simply the typical daily musings of who broke up with whom. She wasn't interested in that, but rather the important things-- like making friends and forming more permanent bonds. So Célestine scanned the room for a person who seemed to be sitting alone, and walked up to the young woman, smiling in a friendly sort of way.
“your state of mind is reflected in every action you take”
"Hello, my name is Célestine Duvont. I'm new to the academy, and I'm interested in majoring in the performing arts, especially dancing. How about you?" Her tone was politely inquiring, but not so aggressive that a person of a more shy temperament might be frightened away. Célestine nodded as the girl answered that she was an aspiring actress but mainly a singer-- it was a common enough goal, and the red haired young woman knew exactly what to say next. Soon the two were laughing with merriment, perhaps attracting the attention of nearby passerby; but the mood was so bright that neither seemed to care. And Célestine was inwardly smiling with the same predatory glint in her eyes from earlier, for the plan she had formed was working perfectly. Of course, Célestine made sure to keep her thoughts friendly and welcoming to the girl, avoiding directly musing about manipulating her and others around them-- she had found long ago that it was much easier to actually become genuine and sweet for a little while, rather than attempt to fake it.
After a few more minutes of conversation, Célestine broke off the conversation so naturally that no one could have suspected a thing, excusing herself shortly afterwards and giving a warm goodbye. The girl walked a few paces away before allowing her eyes to swiftly take in the rest of the area, picking out who seemed to be interested in what, her ears easily catching bits of conversation here and there which provided additional information not gained from observational methods. All of this was accomplished with so much ease that it simply seemed that she was looking for someone; another student perhaps, or an older sibling. And a few minutes later, the girl had picked out a second target and walked at a decent pace towards them, focused on predicting their next movements, when something smashed into her from the side.
Withholding a snarl, Célestine regained her balance shortly and continued on after murmuring that everything was fine-- apparently the brown-haired female spouting apologies a few feet away, had bumped into her. A common occurrence, for sure, and the only reason Célestine was aggravated at all was because it hadn't been calculated into her plans. People had noticed the incident; people who she hadn't wanted to notice her. Inwardly groaning at the hassle, the fire haired girl reached her target and extended a warm greeting, forcing her eyes to seem to focus solely on them. In actuality, Célestine was scanning the room, attempting to pick out the people who had taken note of the two students crashing in the middle of the entry hall. Perhaps that blonde girl.. no? That young woman over there, then? It was frusturating, for she was quite a patient creature typically but couldn't bear for things to go differently than expected. Deciding that it wasn't to be helped and she could deal with anyone later, Célestine turned back to the girl, who was introducing herself and seemed to be happy enough to become acquainted with the redhead. Striking up a conversation, Célestine once again focused on charming the young woman.
