Personality & Appearance
Personality: To anyone who has ever known Jaze(pronounced Jazz) a few things come to mind. The first thing is his somewhat childish nature. The guy loves his sweets and gets pouty when he can’t have them. He also doesn’t like eating healthy foods and gets mopey when he’s forced to eat them. When he was young he’d often get jealous at others who were able to get such expensive things. Now he doesn’t get jealous of the rich folk who don’t share their wealth. No, now he gets angry at them. He really hates hypocrites and holds grudges for at least a week or three.
Though he doesn’t like following rules or listening to advice given to him, he does respect what his best friend Deniz and his mother have to say. When he’s in danger, he’ll usually try to flee first and if trapped, then he’ll fight. He’s fairly smart too, especially with math. He seems to naturally understand the subject and does actually try, not wanting to stay poor forever and knowing a good education usually leads to a decently sized salary.
Appearance: Jaze has short, orange hair that’s actually fairly soft. He usually wears a simple brown headband to try in vain to keep his bangs out of his face. He’s on the average size, being only five feet ten inches. His eyes are a forest green and he’s a little on the light side. His body is slender and has a slight build to it thanks to him working out to make sure all of his sweet eating doesn’t make him fat. His usual attire consists of very simply and comfortable clothing that are mostly blacks and browns.

History
Jaze was born to a rather poor family consisting of only himself, his mom and his dad. He was unexpected but not unwelcome although his unexpectedness did leave the poor couple with some problems. They knew they couldn’t afford a babysitter or anything like that. In the end they chose to have Vanessa, the mother, watch over Jaze while George, the father, worked two jobs. Since George was always working, Jaze grew up not knowing much about his dad and having a better relationship with his mom.
When it came time for them to send Jaze off to school for an education, they figured that Vanessa could get a job for the hours that he was at school. Unfortunately, the times didn’t work out perfectly so for two hours at most and one hour at least Jaze went to an empty house to wait on his mom to come home. At school, he observed the wealthier kids having much nicer clothes than the hand me downs he had and much nicer things. He grew jealous of all of the things the kids had and noticed that they seemed to take them for granted.
One day he had noticed one of the kids had left behind their nice pencil case. There was no one left in the classroom and no teacher around to see him. His fingers itched to take the case and get out of the school and go home. And so he did. He hid the case in his shabby backpack and headed home before he got caught. The next day he left the case at home and only took the pencils so he wouldn’t get caught. To his surprise, the kid didn’t even care that his case was stolen. That became the basis for him to continue his thievery and became quite the kleptomaniac because of it.
Soon enough, he was stealing more than just pencils. Whenever he was caught, he would come up with a number of excuses and the adults would chalk it up to childish behavior. As he grew older, he spent the time his parents were at work to steal from other places. He stole from grocery stores to food market stalls. He had gained a particular love of candy and sweets from the first time he stole some from the other kids so those tended to be his main targets.
When he was thirteen he got into major trouble with a shopkeeper who was none too happy with him stealing from his shop. He was going to be arrested when an older boy with white hair stood up for him and talk his way out of the situation so Jaze wouldn’t be arrested. That boy’s name was Deniz and they were best friends ever since. Jaze admired the cocky yet honest guy and tended to follow him everywhere. When he was eighteen years old, he was accepted into Amesti Springs Academy for his above average grades, particularly in math. He plans on graduating there and isn't too sure about what he'd do then.
