All Because of a Cat [Gideon]

All Because of a Cat Keisuke could feel the summer breeze slipping away slowly as the time approaches the month of August. Barely anything had changed in the city of Amesti Springs. Same faces pass by him in campus with the same judging eyes everyday. And the same brats kept picking fights. Why do they even try? Everytime...well most times, Keisuke had won. Isn't it pointless to continue? He never understood why people tried so hard at everything. Three years ago, he was sent flying into a foreign country to learn a renewed sense of duty...oh duty, how he hated the word. He had the duty to help his brother and protect his younger one and how'd it end? He's not worth taking on responsibilities, so why should he? One thing Keisuke had learned so far though; life of a student is hard; Trying to hide a cat in the dorm, smoke in discreet, sleep in class without having 'booked' on the head....yeah it's hard alright.
Just when Keisuke had enough, he'd wake up to another day with another jerk trying to mash his face. Today is just another repetitive scene from his never ending movie. At least he had something to look forward to at the end of the day; Kuro, his cat. Ever since a year ago when he found Kuro in a box on the streets, he kept him in his dorm room. He storms into the dorm with a slash on his forehead and bleeding lips. He groans vexingly as he slams down his blood-stained blazer on the bed. Nevertheless of his crabby attitude, he usually gets comforted by Kuro, but....where was he?
"Kuro?" he called out in a soft hushed voice. "Come on, kitty, you haven't ate anything all day. You're probably starving. I'm sorry I was a bit late. Sometimes, people just don't know how to leave me alone. Kuro? Are you in the bathroom?" Keisuke peeked through the door, planning to surprise Kuro, but he was nowhere to be seen. His heart plunged into concern. Where had he gone? Was he taken away by that old fart (teacher)?
Keisuke stormed out of his room, roaming through the halls, desperately searching for Kuro. "Kuro?!" He whispered as loud as he could. It was at night, and he'd rather not be found in his shitty state especially not the day he lost a fight. Fiinally, he hears a faint mewl that perked his ears in all directions. "Kuro, is that you, kitty?" His lips broke into a big genuine smile until he went closer to find out who was with Kuro. He frowned and glared at the silhouette. Oh, Kei has given up on calculating how deep of trouble he's in.

| Gideon yawned to himself as he walked through the halls of the dorms, occasionally glancing about in disinterest. Nothing was quite as boring as dorm duty. All he had to do was walk through the halls and make sure everything was in order, and maybe do some random room checks, but... At this time of the afternoon there wasn't even any students wandering the halls to talk to. Plus, he'd decided against random room searches after the last few awkward occurrences. So now all there was to do was... Well, walk. He wasn't completely sure what the point of it was. They got annoyed last time he asked. Probably because he kept asking, but also most likely because they didn't know, either. At least, that's what he figured.
The Home Economics teacher blinked, suddenly snapped from his thoughts at the sound of a soft meow. A cat? Well, that was certainly a broken rule, what with the no pets policy. That aside, though, oooh, a cat~ Grinning to himself, now, Gideon quickly turned the corner to find the offending feline. And there it was, a little black cat wandering about the halls. Not long ago, he'd seen a room with the door slightly ajar. He'd closed it as he passed, but perhaps that was where this little one had escaped from. Smiling, the teacher knelt down, making little hand gestures towards the cat. "Here, kitty, kitty..." He called lightly, then scooping it up into his arms the moment it wandered close enough. "Ahah, gotcha~" He chimed, standing up straight and lightly stroking the fur as he pondered the next moral dilemma. To report, or y'know, find the owner and keep it a secret for cat petting privileges.
It was barely a moment later that he began to here a student loudly whispering a name. As the kitty seemed to give a mewl in reply, there was another quiet whisper, this one confirming kitty's identity as 'Kuro.' Gideon chuckled as the cat began to wiggle in his arms, and turned to face the student as he heard the footsteps approach. He'd honestly expected some poor boy with dread on his face, but instead he was met with angry eyes. Ohh, this one wasn't going to give up the cat easily, was he? Not that he'd have to... Gideon had already decided that there was no way he could report it. Hiding a cat in his dorm was exactly the type of thing he'd do, himself. "This is yours, I assume?" Gideon spoke in a teasing tone, lowering the cat to the ground to allow it to return to its owner. "I'm sure you know pets aren't allowed in the dorm building?"

All Because of a Cat For a moment, the walls seemed enormous. These dark halls he walk through everyday never felt so long. Keisuke stood in silent staring at the teacher viciously. His ash mauve eyes glowed in the moonlight. It almost seemed mystical. Perhaps if he looked ferocious enough, the teacher will leave him be, just like the others. Who'd want to bother with a troublemaker anyways...the one with a pet. It wasn't supposed to be that hard. And It's not like he deliberately tried to break the rule, but who the hell could leave a stray cat alone...in the rain. His hand twitched with slight fear. He was most likely on the verge of losing Kuro.
Keisuke had seen Gideon a few times at school. He was one of the few teachers who didn't get on his nerves and he especially liked to observe the peculiar ones. Keisuke never understood why he would always bother with room searches or students. What was it that drove the man to be bothered with so much? It honestly made him feel slightly better that it was Gideon who found Kuro.
'Just talk your way through it. Talk through it and he'll let you go,' he tried to convinced himself repeatedly, but who was he kidding. Talk...yeah right. Everything he says sounds sarcastic and insincere to start with..."Kuro, you're not getting any tuna tonight," he whispered under his breath. 'Fuck, just do something right for once, Keisuke'
Keisuke could feel his muscles tense as he approaches the teacher reluctantly. There was redness in his cheeks as he caught a whiff of himself which was covered in dirt and mud. He doesn't know what fuck was in that mud, but the stench pierces your nostrils harshly. He hadn't had the chance to clean up. "Kuro, you're sleeping under the bed," once again, he whispered to himself. With lagged steps, he trotted towards Gideon..'just smile and be nice...nice....nice..' A fake smile plastered on Keisuke's face until Gideon spoke teasingly. His eyebrows twitched in slight irritation. Suddenly, the happy smile was replaced with a twisted one, "Oh! really? I did not know, Mr...uh Hazelnut? I'm very sorry. I'll be sure to get it out of everyone's way, so will you please return him?"

Gideon blinked a few times, as even as he released the cat, the angry look Keisuke had put on didn't seem to fade. Not only that, but he seemed to be mumbling menacingly to himself as he approached. The teacher wasn't sure what all of that was about, but as he concluded before, the boy was probably just nervous he'd be losing his cat. Suddenly the angry look seemed to transform itself into a pleasant but very fake smile as Keisuke drew closer. Trying to put on a good impression, was he?
Unfortunately, the smile lost any sense of pleasantry it had, in response to his teasing comment. No surprise, really. Now that he thought about it, it could've been taken as a threat. Either now, it was just a very annoyed smile. Ah-- Mr.Hazelnut? That was a new one. "Oh, don't misunderstand. I doubt a little kitty like that could be in anyone's way. I put him down, you know... That was me returning him." The teacher mused, quirking a brow at the defensive student. "I wasn't going to take him away or report it... Though I can't promise any of the other teachers might have the same courtesy. You should be more careful if you plan to keep him hidden." Gideon explained, his tone only lightly scolding. |

All Because of a Cat Keisuke bent down, clutching Kuro dearly into arms. A subconscious smile appeared on his lips as he held Kuro up at arm's length. "There you are, buddy. Don't you go anywhere again." The cat mewled in response before lunging into the black-haired student's face, licking him spotless. Keisuke chuckled a bit before pulling him away. He shot a glance at Gideon once again except this time it was much gentler and a bit apologetic. Keisuke then looked down with a slightly flushed face and he fiddled with his feet marginally. "T-thank you." For once, there wasn't an ounce of sarcasm detected.
The young male made a questionable face as he studied Gideon distrustfully. "Why should I believe you? Maybe you're just saying that because you've heard stories about me. How should I know you won't nit-pick about my cat when you go to the next teachers' meeting? You and the other ol' farts are all the same. Why should you be different?" He paused for a while, biting the inside of his lips. "You better not be lying. I would make sure you don't see him again, only if you promise I see him again....but too bad I don't make deals with hazelnuts." Keisuke stuck out his tongue before turning away with a humph.
Keisuke wanted to get away from Gideon as fast as possible, but the pain in his leg finally takes a toll. Until now, he was driven by the purpose of finding Kuro, he hadn't paid much attention to anything else. The fight earlier really did a number on him this time. How the heck do you expect a guy to defend against eight no-brain-all-brawns? It was a miracle he escaped with just a limp and no missing teeth. Lady luck must be fond of him quiet a bit. Keisuke winced in pain with each step he took that lagged behind him. By this point, he really just wanted for Gideon to be as far away as possible, but his body answered otherwise. His knees gave in before he could reach his dorm, making him fall to the hard floor with a loud thump. Keisuke whimpered quietly. He tried to get himself back up, but his foot was too swollen by this point. He groaned in a frustration as he refused to look at Gideon.

Gideon Hazel Gideon smiled as the cat showed Keisuke such affection. He'd planned to walk away at that, but the boy spoke up to thank him. It had been entirely unexpected but seemed sincere. That was a very nice change from the earlier aggression. Still, defensive aggression was different from true aggression and could be easily forgotten. "That's quite alright--" Gideon started, though his reply was cut off as the other's expression suddenly changed to that of distrust. Ahh, the boy was overthinking it... That could be expected.
Gideon paused, politely listening to Keisuke's rant and accusations. They were reasonable questions. Sort of...From the context he was using, it seemed the boy was a known troublemaker. Or misunderstood, whichever. Ah, again with the hazelnut. As Keisuke turned away, Gideon sighed following after him and pausing a mere moment before he gave his reply. "I assure you that you can trust me in this matter. Why? Well, I for one would love to have a cat waiting for me in my own dorm. Thing is, they're even more strict towards teacher dorms. Mine especially, since that one incident... Hmm. Ahem. Point being, I don't see any reason to report you. Why do that when I could instead just go to your room whenever I want to pet the kitty. Er.. Well, I guess that wouldn't work out too well, either... Um, either way, I'm not going to report you. Also, it's... It's Hazel, not--" Gideon blinked, his counter-rant interrupted as the student suddenly fell to the floor in pain.
Standing still for a moment as if unsure how to react to this, the teacher eventually snapped out of it, quickly kneeling by the boy. Oh man, he'd been so focused on the cat thing he hadn't given enough thought to the student's injuries. He'd pushed it aside as just another troublesome boy thing, but it was obvious now that it didn't stop at cuts and bloody lips. "--Oh, jeez..." Furrowing his brows, Gideon was still trying to figure out his next course of action. He could call a nurse to the dorms, but the cat... He could take the cat back to the boy's room, but he couldn't leave the boy alone... He couldn't risk the cat being seen by other staff, either. He was sure the boy would never forgive him if it was taken. "--Alright. Let's get you and Kuro back to your room, hm?" He eventually spoke with a confirming nod, carefully gathering the fallen boy into his arms to lift him up. It made things easier that he hadn't released the cat. Standing straight with the student held the least awkward way he could manage, and heading for the dorm room he remembered had to be Keisuke's.
Luckily the door was still wide open from when Keisuke had stormed out. Sighing, he hurried into the room, closing the door behind him with his foot. "Are you alright?" He asked, setting the boy down on the bed next to a bloody blazer. "Oh wow, would hate to see how the other guy ended up..." He joked lightly, shaking his head.

All Because of a Cat... Miki's conflicted so she'll edit lyrics later.
With a sigh, Keisuke gave up trying to fight the teacher. There didn't seem to be much reaction from him anyways. It was sort of bland. The young male was always secretly amused when people retorted back at him or take his threats seriously. His sharp eyes, now focused back onto Kuro, making himself smile genuinely once again. Keisuke looked at Gideon almost with a surprised look. He averted his eyes as he held out Kuro towards Gideon, "f-fine...you can pet him as much as you want...but he's still mine. Just don't pet his belly, that's his weak spot, and don't clutch him from behind...he hates that, too." Keisuke snickered slightly trying to come back at Gideon, but his legs gave out on him before he could do any more retorts.
Keisuke tries to resist the help, flailing his arms against Gideon, attempting to push him away, but he was already much exhausted. "I don't need your help--- he attempted to stand on his feet once again, but ended up yelping backwards. His face went red out of embarrassment and frustration. Keisuke looked at Gideon pleadingly in case he was thinking of calling a nurse or something. He's taken much harsher beatings and have survived. There was no need for unnecessary risk.
Looking back at Kuro, Keisuke lifted him up with one arm. In the other, he took support on Gideon's shoulder reluctantly. "Alright," he replied inaudibly followed by an obedient nod. Keisuke never looked up at Gideon's face once as they made their way towards his room. Kuro squirmed in Keisuke's arms, making the brunette unstable in his current position. It was already awkward enough being carried; he has never been carried. Heck, he didn't even like to touch people unless it's about fighting. Keisuke bent his neck up just enough for his face to Kuro's, helping him calm down a notch.
As soon as he was out of Gideon's armsKeisuke slumped himself down into the bed, setting his foot down carefully from the side. He let out a chuckle of irony. Where was someone like Gideon all those years ago before he lost his brothers. "I'm fine. It's just a sprain. It'll heal in a few days." Keisuke glanced at the blazer and looked at Gideon with a playful smirk, "Maybe you should be attending them instead of me."

Gideon Hazel Gideon sighed, finding somewhere to sit and running a hand through his hair. The actual process of carrying the student here had been difficult to say the least. But he'd managed, so that was good. Keisuke explained that it was just a sprain, but... "...I'm going to assume you didn't start it. Is this something that happens with often?" He asked after a moment, frowning in worry. He knew there were often fights around the campus, but to actually see the result of one was extremely concerning. "..Ah, I don't believe I got your name." He soon added as he realized.
"Hmm... Stay off your foot, then. I'm sure you don't want me to call the nurse here, but I can probably get a crutch from them for you... In the meantime, though, you need to make sure you clean up all of your other injuries, too. You don't want your face getting all scarred up, do you? --Better yet, you should probably avoid fights. That would definitely be the best course of action." The teacher rambled, adding the last part jokingly. "...What started the fight, though? Were you just attacked? What's the situation, here?"

nobody ever made you dig deeper Keisuke chuckled weakly. Although, Gideon's question was as simple as it could get, the answer he wanted to give was too complicated. He'd be lying if he had said he wasn't the problem why all the fights start, but then it's always the other party that throws the first punches. "...Oh Hazel, you're a little too late to be asking that." Keisuke stuck out his knuckles which had scarred so many times that it looked like it was cocooned in a hard shell. The brunette unfolded his hand and opened it out to Gideon in order to receive a handshake. "Keisuke, just call me Kei. Keisuke is a tongue twister anyways." His voice was now a lot quieter and softer.
Keisuke sprawled flat on the bed, facing the ceiling for no particular reason. He whispered a 'thanks' to Gideon, before sitting up once again in case he might fall asleep. "I will clean it up...I need to shower anyways. These scars aren't deep enough to stay." Keisuke paused before laughing out loud ironically. "Once people learn how to leave me alone, maybe." A tiny smirk appeared on the brunette's lips. "...What does it matter anyways? Some people didn't like the idea of losing, so they brought the numbers with them. That's the situation and that will probably be the situation until I get outta here." MADE BY KAIZU OF WW AND TWF
