The time is out of joint. O cursed spite, that ever I was born, to set it right.
Hugo Audley
The park was a nice place to relax. Mostly when the weather was nice, and small children weren't running around and screaming. But Hugo mostly stuck close to the more isolated areas, away from the various playgrounds. The weather was rather mild, and it was a perfect day for reading as well. Specks of sunlight streamed in through gaps in the tree branches that towered above. Hugo stretched, reclining back on the bench as he continued to quickly read and absorb every individual word. He had always been a fast reader, anyways. He could easily get through rather dense books in a matter of hours. The Lord of the Rings series had of course been a project to read, however, but also a delight. There had never been a specific genre that intrigued Hugo. He just simply loved to read, and that was that.
His grandparents on his mother's side had both been librarians. Although he had never met them, his mother routinely told him stories about their lives and exploits. Hugo was always interested in his family lineage, so he had no problem with listening to his mother's quaint stories. He had never known too much about his father's extended family, or even much about his grandparents on his father's side. His father had mostly considered his friends as family. Hugo had always assumed that his father did not get along with his parents and the rest of his family. His mother didn't know much, either. And she had no reason to hide anything, either. So Hugo had always been left curious.
He would go get something to eat, he decided. After he left the park he would perhaps stop by a cart of cafe and treat himself to something sweet or fried. Or both. Hugo wasn't a big sweet eater, but cravings came and went at random intervals, anyways. The blue-haired youth broke out of his thoughts and swiftly continued to read, carefully looking at each paragraph. He always made sure to backtrack in order to understand what exactly was happening in each chapter. In order to be interested in a book, he had to be able to understand it thoroughly.

The book he had purchased was newly bought as well. He loved the smell of new books, and the feeling after he first opened a new book.
