Why shouldn't we laugh forever? ~Books, Baddies and Friendsip?~ Ahh... Honestly, not many places made Emi happier than the local book store- especially when the noon sun was shining down so hard and making the world outside an oven. Granted, it frustrated her having to ask for where the Braille section was, but the embarrassment was worth it, for the vast section of literature she had the pleasure to immerse herself in. From the way her smile danced across her lips, to the near sparkles in her eyes, one could tell the girl was at home.
She currently sat at the small cafe area with several books she'd just purchased, intent on reading at least one before making the way to the dorms. After all, where else could she have a fancy sweet tea and listen to soft jazz as she read? Humming quietly, she ran her fingers over the first few bumps on the page and closed her eyes, falling into the book and its imagery.
People always laughed at her whenever she used that word- imagery... After all, how could someone who can't see, picture anything?- But she never listened, as she knew otherwise. She knew how the feelings made the scene for her. It wasn't like seeing it, no, but it made her happy. And she could care less what anyone made of that. As she reached a joke on the page, she giggled softly before taking a sip of her tea and enjoying the peace of the store.

| Teresa's favorite places usually involved books. The library. That spot outside where she liked to curl up and read while it rained. The local bookstore. Books were one of her favorite things, and she probably spent far too much time absorbed in them. But then there she was again, in the bookstore making her way to the languages section. She was teaching herself German, and she had progressed enough that she needed a new book. She liked to go through as many as she could, whenever she could. Tess probably only needed one dictionary for a foreign language, but she ended up buying two or three because she liked to have them. She still had three Chinese dictionaries lying around somewhere from when she'd taught herself that language. Tess spent a few minutes there, glancing at the spines of the books and then picking out one here and there to check out its contents. She'd narrowed it down to three books and was trying to narrow it down to one when someone else joined her in the aisle. She glanced his way, smiling faintly at him before returning to her books. He ignored her for a moment, glancing at the titles on the shelf, before he made his way closer. "What're you looking at there?" he asked. Tess looked up and smiled politely. "German books. Teaching myself a language," she said. "Need any help?" he asked. "I can go through it with you." "Er, no that's okay." She shook her head. "I'll be fine." "Come on," he said, getting a little closer. "We can study together. There's a little cafe area right over there in the store, we can sit there and talk and..."She tried to refuse him politely, but the man was persistent. She stood there nervously, continuing to refuse him as he continued to persist in pestering her, shifting from suggesting they study a language together to just get coffee to, well, do whatever, Tess stopped paying attention to what he suggested. She just kept refusing but he kept at it. She was just too soft spoken to really tell him to lay off. The guy was loud enough, though, to attract the attention of a few people in the store. Why shouldn't we laugh forever? ~Books, Baddies and Friendsip?~ Emi, at first, didn't notice the conversations of people too much around her- after all, books were much more entertaining... But she then heard some obvious discomfort from a softer voice, and a sense of... urgency, from a deeper one. As she listened in, it seemed like this guy was just not going to leave the poor girl alone- and Emi was not going to let that keep going on.
Clicking and using her ears, a determined look on her face, she made her way towards the two. Her movements were quiet, but definitely firm as she nearly marched towards the duo, her tiny fists balled up and her shoulders hunched- though she stopped just for a moment. She'd forgotten to bring the book, after all- the very thick, heavy one- since books made for extremely good weapons. With that in her grip, she made her way over quicker than before.
"Excuse me," She said in a hard tone as she was close enough, "She told you to go away, Sir. So please leave, or I'll make you leave. And I most certainly do not mean calling security." She was turned to the man, and though she was short, she looked very much prepared to attack at any time. "Don't make me ask you again," She concluded through grit teeth, glaring ever so slightly. She tapped the book against her leg slightly, as if hinting she would in fact hit him if he continued to harass the woman.

| Teresa tried her best to pay as little attention to the man as possible, focusing her gaze on the books in her hand and on the shelf while he continued to talk to her. It clearly wasn't bothering him, since he kept at it. Her refusals of his offers for a date, any kind of date at all, were enough to show him that she was still listening. And so he persisted. Tess was surprised to hear another voice, which distracted the man from his attempts. She turned her head to look for the source of the voice, finding a small dark haired girl standing near them with a thick book in hand. The girl asked, well, told the man to leave, clearly threatening him if he decided not to. The man frowned, looking at the girl hard for a few moments. Then he looked from the new arrival to Tess and back again, and rolled his eyes. "Not worth it," he mumbled, brushing past the dark haired girl with an irritated look on his face. Tess waited a moment to be sure he had gone before she smiled at the girl. "Thank you so much! I didn't think he'd ever leave me alone." She might have tried to hug the other girl but her hands were full of books. Emelie Andersona little taste to fix me up; just to make the shaking stop. |

Why shouldn't we laugh forever? ~Books, Baddies and Friendsip?~ Though the tiny blind girl's aura radiated with determination to get this man away from the poor harassed woman, she felt the tiniest waves of anxiety roll through her. After all, this individual could carry a weapon, or have much more strength than her. If he actually fought her, instead of taking her seriously, she feared for her own safety. She remained rigid, sweaty hands gripping tighter on her book despite her hardened, fiery features.
However, the next words caused her to visibly slump with relief as she took a few deep breaths. "It truly isn't. Thank you very much, Sir." She said a bit on the softer side, offering a smile Hopefully he'd learn from this experience. She giggled to herself with the bubbly feeling of a job well done before being cut off by that same, gentle voice thanking her- for something she honestly felt to be undeserved.
"Oh," She murmured softly, as her expression turned sheepish, "It's no problem! He needed to leave you alone... He didn't hurt you, did he? Are you okay?" Concern blossomed to her face as she spoke. After all, he could have harmed her before she'd begun paying attention. She was ready to go find him if he did, and handle him accordingly!
However, the more she thought about it... She realized leaving her alone might not be safe, not right now. ".. Mmm..." She hummed to herself in thought, "... Did you wanna sit with me until he's gone? In case he tries to come back again..." Just thinking about the possibility was making Emelie nervous, but she needed to keep the girl safe. She looked away as she thought to herself, fidgeting nervously.
